After flying Qatar Airways Qsuite business class on the Airbus A350-1000, it’s really quite hard to compare it to virtually any other business class experience, with the exception of ANA’s “The Room”, which launched in late 2019. Though it felt cheesy at the time of the marketing launch, Qatar Airways moniker of “first in business Qatar Airways' Airbus A380s do not have the Qsuites – instead, the superjumbos fly a more conventional open-style business class seat, which we still rate very highly. The A380s will not be upgraded with the Qsuites , as Qatar Airways plans to retire its superjumbos from 2024 when they reach approximately ten years of age.
Trends have moved to make the business class more spacious, too. Many airlines now offer all-aisle access in business class with 1-2-1 arranged seats. And with features like tables, storage options, and even closing privacy doors. Offerings such as Qatar Airways QSuite and British Airways' new Club Suite (pictured below) are very impressive.

Qatar Airways business class is one of my favorite uses of American AAdvantage miles, so that’s how I ticketed our flights. Specifically, I paid 70,000 AAdvantage miles plus $54.82 per person in taxes & fees to ticket the following flight: 05/04 QR731 Doha to Dallas departing departing 1:40AM arriving 10:05AM.

An upgrade to Cathay Pacific Premium Economy is approximately $1200 more. Upgrading to Business Class is about an extra $4000. That’s a huge price difference between premium economy and business class. For affordability, I would choose Premium Economy over business class based on the price. If you are smart, book the two seats by the window. Fine dining returns to Qatar Airways’ first, business class.
